Artist's Name: 001
Title: A Perspective
Medium: Pastel
Dimensions: 18" x 24
Inspiration: Acting has been a big part of my high school experience. I created this in soft pastels to capture a moment in one of my plays. I wanted to show the viewer that actors in a play are met with many varying positive and negative experiences adding to the drama of life.

Artist's Name: 002
Title: Last First Day
Medium: Colored Pencil
Dimensions: 11" x 16"
Inspiration: As a senior, I wanted to create this piece representing the two roads in life: The road ahead and the road behind us. In my colored pencil piece, I show how one road represents two roads; the road my friend and I have ahead, as well as the road we are leaving behind in high school. The road represents the past and the future.

Artist's Name: 003
Title: Close Up and Personal
Medium: Colored Pencil
Dimensions: 13" x 14"
Inspiration: I wanted to capture a daily routine, detailed and colorful, and showing movement. The viewpoint of me brushing my teeth helped to make my piece come alive in a colorful and almost humorous way. I hope that people viewing my art can find the fun through color and a different viewpoint of daily life.

Artist's Name: 004
Title: Glassy Glow
Medium: Acrylic Paint
Dimensions: 12" x 13"
Inspiration: We used to have these portraits that we hung on our walls when we were younger. One day my sister decided to redecorate the whole house so then they were gone. I decided to make a painting of them to commemorate them. I learned how to paint shadows and paint realism. My main take from it was the shine the vases had and their ominous dark background.

Artist's Name: 005
Title: Star Hands
Medium: Mixed Media
Dimensions: 14" x 14"
Inspiration: I have been a self-taught artist until the start of high school, and my biggest inspirations come from my surroundings. In my art piece, I took inspiration from a trip I had taken in summer with some of my friends. During this trip we posed our hands to shape a star. I took that moment, switched up the hand poses and used that in my piece. The background consisted of fond memories of my first summer living in Washington. This art is important to me not only for it moving onto bigger things, but this is the biggest recognition, I have ever gotten for my art, especially in school.

Artist's Name: 006
Title: Rylie
Medium: Graphite
Dimensions: 12" x 12"
Inspiration: A senior project that I learned how to manipulate graphite in and that it is a good representation of me.

Artist's Name: 007
Title: Placed on a Pedastal
Medium: Charcoal
Inspiration: The concept of the piece is primarily up to the spectator; however, it essentially resembles a faultless figure of stone seen by ordinary people. The figure is depicted as a solid edifice or foundation. However, above it is bound by unseen hands, which indicate the true source of control. I was able to recognize some difficulties associated with working on such a large piece; it can be challenging to keep going when you've been working on something off and on for several months. A few times I wanted to discontinue working on it. If I were to do things differently, I would concentrate more on the source of lighting to aid with shading and have more comprehensive references when composing the piece. This made drawing the figures' faces more challenging because I couldn't envisage how they would look in their natural surroundings.

Artist's Name: 008
Title: Baby
Medium: Graphite
Dimensions: 14" x 14"
Inspiration: The drawing is from a special moment when I was three. It holds a special place in my heart, a true core memory. I like the way my bucket hat and my sunglasses help capture the true joy I felt.

Artist's Name: 009
Title: Portrait
Medium: Watercolor
Dimensions: 14" x 14"
Inspiration: My inspiration for this piece was warmth. With this work, I wanted to convey the feeling of lying in the sun and its contrast with the feeling when you step out of it.

Artist's Name: 010
Title: Miss Universe
Medium: Graphite
Dimensions: 14" x 14"
Inspiration: My inspiration was a variety of other art pieces. The meaning behind it came to me as I drew it. It represents how she might not be happy with what is happening with our world at the moment.

Artist's Name: 011
Title: Apples
Medium: Acrylic
Dimensions: 12" x 12"
Inspiration: My parents work in agriculture all my life, so it was common for my parents to bring apples home.

Artist's Name: 0118
Title: A Non-Binary Body
Medium: Ceramic
Dimensions: 14.5" x 10" x 5.5"
Inspiration: This piece is intended to show the pride and struggles of people whose gender identity does not match their outward gender expression. There are elements of pride in the statue's pose, with their shoulders back and chest puffed out. The writing and symbols in black communicate pride and empowerment. Statements of struggle are written on the back of the piece; literal expressions of talking about someone behind their back. The handprint on the shoulder and some of the words in quotes are glazed pink instead of black because pink has certain meanings; often associated with girls. As someone who identifies as gender-neutral, I made this piece to feel more heard and understood by others who don't share the same identities.

Artist's Name: 012
Title: Seahorse
Medium: Watercolor
Dimensions: 12" x 14"
Inspiration: My inspiration for this piece was estuaries and my father and his ability to nurture, something society perceives as only a feminine attribute.

Artist's Name: 013
Title: Strawberry
Medium: Watercolor
Dimensions: 12" x 14"
Inspiration: I was inspired by the images of real strawberry plants. Each image showed different stages of the strawberry growing and developing which gave me an idea to paint a life cycle of the strawberry plant.

Artist's Name: 014
Title: Mushroom Forest
Medium: Photography
Dimensions: 8" x 11"
Inspiration: I have seen multiple pictures of mushrooms online and I wanted to do one of my own from my grandma’s backyard.

Artist's Name: 015
Title: Tranquility
Medium: Photography
Dimensions: 8" x 11"
Inspiration: I took this photo visiting my ohana (family). It reflects my happiness I feel with them. I just like taking pictures in places that make me happy.

Artist's Name: 016
Title: Junewood
Medium: Ceramics
Dimensions: 18"x9"x9"
Inspiration: "Junewood" is based off a major character from the personal project I am working on with my best friend, an energetic boy named Cedrus who is reincarnated into a jackalope, which we call “Junehoppers". Later in the story his kind stepmother, who is a potter and sculptor, creates a statue of a Junehopper as a memorial for him and I really wanted to bring that to life. The most important thing I learned from this project was the process of building up a piece and solving problems of shaping by layering clay and keeping him from caving in. If I were to do this project again, I would start with the body instead of the head and add some more texture to him.

Artist's Name: 017
Title: Candlelight
Medium: Acrylic Paint on Canvas
Dimensions: 16" x 20 "
Inspiration: This is the largest painting I've ever painted. I spent over 25 hours painting it for my final project in Painting. The textures I used in this piece make it an interesting and engaging piece to look at, and the textures of the book and the reflections on the silver were my favorite parts to paint! This painting helped develop my style as I learned that I adore adding different textures into a painting to create a unique style and signature look!

Artist's Name: 018
Title: Musee
Medium: Clay Ceramics
Dimensions: 9.5 in x 3.5 in x 6.5 in
Inspiration: I want to incorporate the fluidity of a human hand with motion in a stationary object. The ball is supposed to be delicate in the fingers, barely adding any tension yet still having some weight to it. How joints move is the main thing that I learned from this project. I had to take many inspiration pictures of my own hands to be able to get that angle. If I was to do it again, I would want the bowl to be flatter as to create even lighter look in having the fingers flow more cleanly into the bowl.

Artist's Name: 019
Title: Directions
Medium: Digital Photography
Dimensions: 12.6 x 8.4
Inspiration: What lies at the heart of this photograph is movement. When we photograph dance, we often conform to the fast shutter speed and crisp lines that makes up much of sports photography, but for this photo I wanted to use a long exposure in order to bring out the emotion and movement of the subjects.

Artist's Name: 020
Title: An Unbreakable Bond
Medium: Acrylic Paint
Dimensions: 11" x 14"
Inspiration: I wanted to capture young, protective, ignorance. The young deer is shown laying next to the skull of an older deer, that appears weathered. The skull has been there for a while, yet the deer still continues to visit it and lay with it. It feels safe with the skull, though the deer he once knew is actually dead. Our minds tend to block out distressing relations, like death. We deny loss, especially as children. As this was probably one of my first large paintings, i think there are a lot of things I learned - to trust the process, go with your gut, to not fear the boundaries of art -- there aren't any. If I were to do this painting again, I think my process would remain roughly the same, subconsciously however, I believe I'd still do things differently like changing the length and size of my brush strokes, changing the flow.

Artist's Name: 021
Title: The Things That Last
Medium: Photography
Dimensions: 5826 x 3889 Pixels
Inspiration: I wasn't expecting this shot, and mainly focusing on shooting other boats, so I ended up using a little longer focal length than I wish I had, as it would have been nice to get a little more of the size of the sail. I do like how you can see more of her face though. All in all, I'm really happy how this photo turned out, and it made me look for photos in the places that I'm not expecting them to be.

Artist's Name: 022
Title: Hidden Within
Medium: Mixed Media
Dimensions: W: 5 ½ in L: 7 9/16 in D: 1 ½ in
Inspiration: I’ve always wanted to major in psychology, take a deep dive into the brain and understand human nature and teenagers. In my piece, I correlated things that I think most teenagers hide within themselves from others. I tried to find quotes that would fit the brain set, and feelings of a teenager nowadays. I tried to show the balancing we have to do between school, work, family, and having an outside life.

Artist's Name: 023
Title: Island Girl
Medium: Oil Paint
Dimensions: 18" x 16"
Inspiration: I wanted to capture the beauty of Samoan Hawaiian women. I enjoy drawing faces and flowers.
