School Counseling

Kim Reykdal

OSPI supports counselors with information, policy updates and school-level resources every school needs to build a robust comprehensive school counseling and guidance program.

A comprehensive school counseling program, an integral component of the school's mission, functions in three domains: academic, career, and social-emotional. OSPI provides K–12 support, technical assistance, and tools for comprehensive school counseling program development and effective use of student data to prepare all students to be successful. School counseling and guidance programs enhance the learning process and help create a positive school culture for academic achievement.

The Washington Comprehensive School Counseling and Guidance Program Model (2017) is full of resources to help counselors develop a comprehensive school counseling program.
