Resources to Provide a Continuum of Support for English Learners

The OSPI Bilingual Education Advisory Committee (BEAC) asked staff to convene a statewide, stakeholder work group for the purposes of:

  1. Recommending an alternate English language proficiency assessment for ELs with significant cognitive disabilities,
  2. Amending WAC 392-160-045 to align with federal laws, and
  3. Compiling resources to assist districts in serving struggling ELs and students identified as dual-qualified for English language development services and special education.
