SAFS Data Files

This is a discrete website provided for knowledgeable users with the capability to work with large amounts of data in SQL, Access and/or Excel format. Each dataset requires the user to have firm knowledge of the data fields reported and their interrelationships to capably work with the data files. OSPI does not have the resources to, and cannot, provide support for users that do not have this prerequisite knowledge.

Access Files

The following files were created in Microsoft Access and contain the raw data reflected in the F-195, F-196, and S-275 files. Each database has been zipped to conserve space. The user will need to unzip the files and open the database with the Access program.

For further information about the end of year financial data email Mike Sando or call 360-725-6304.

For further information about budget data email Lee Wlazlak or call 360-725-6305.

The S-275 school personnel data provided is complete with the exception of:
*Social Security numbers and birthdates, which are exempt from disclosure per RCW 42.56.230; and
*A very limited number of personnel records, where personal information of crime victims is protected (Chapter 40.24 RCW) and where the safety of individuals may be endangered.

Preliminary S-275 school personnel data is available around February of the school year (for example, February 2024 for the 2023-24 school year). Final S-275 school personnel data is available around November after the end of the school year (for example, November 2024 for the 2023-24 school year).

For further information about the personnel database email Ross Bunda or call 360-725-6308.

Adobe PDF Files

The following Adobe PDF data files are simplified versions of the S-275 data on Washington State school personnel for each school year, sorted by employing school district and the person's last name. You can also use the Adobe edit feature "Find" (Ctrl+F) to search for individual records. For example, you can find records for teacher John Doe with certificate number 123456A by searching for "Doe, John" or "doe, john" or "doe, j", or "123456A", and so on.

Excel Files

The following Microsoft Excel spreadsheet files are simplified versions of the S-275 data containing records of Washington state school personnel. Because of the large number of records yearly, each school year's list is grouped into three worksheets, by employing district:

  • District names beginning with A-G
  • District names beginning with H-P
  • District names beginning with Q-Z

An individual's records can be found more easily by using Excel's search features, such as 'filter' or 'find.'

For further information about the state school personnel data email Ross Bunda or call 360-725-6308.

The following files were created in Microsoft Excel and contain the raw extract data reported on all Apportionment reports. The file has been zipped to conserve space.

For further information about the extract data email Melissa Jarmon or call 360-725-6307.

The following file contain levy data submitted by districts and ESD. This data is used in the F-780 Levy Reports and in completing Property Tax Levy Collection data. These are also found on our Election Results page but are organized year by year and this data is a flat file starting from 2010.

Levy Election History Data updated through November 2023 elections.

For further information about the levy data email Melissa Jarmon or call 360-725-6307.

The following file summarizes the ESSER Funding reported on the F196. For more information on this file, email Gideon Belmaker or Michelle Matakas.

CSV Files - End of Fiscal Year Data

Due to the increasing amount of data required in order to report school building level financial records, Microsoft Access is no longer a feasible long term option to hold end of year fiscal data. As an alternative option for our heavy data users, we are now providing this data in CSV format. The tables contained below include all three years since OSPI began collecting data at the school building level.

The following Excel CSV files contain the raw data reflected in the F-196 for the year 2022-23.

The following Excel CSV files contain the raw data reflected in the F-196. They contain data for the past three years – 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22. The user will need to sort for each year’s data sets.

For further information about the end of year financial data, email Mike Sando or call 360-725-6304.
