Districts are responsible for implementing several new procedures.
M033-16 06/13/2016 2016-17 High School Academic Acceleration: Dual Credit Capacity Expansion Competitive Grants The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) invites Washington school districts, on behalf of their high schools, to apply for funds to develop new capacity for dual credit courses by supporting teacher training, curriculum acquisition, technology, examination fees, and other costs associated with offering dual credit courses to high school students.
M025-16 05/18/2016 2015-16 Weapons Data Collection in Approved Private Schools State law (RCW 28A.230.130) requires each approved private school to report to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) all known incidents involving the possession of weapons on school premises, transportation systems, or in areas of facilities while being used exclusively by private schools.

B040-16 08/19/2016 Visual Screening Requirements for School Districts A near vision screening requirement has been added to an existing law requiring distance vision screening in all Washington state schools pursuant to Senate Bill 6245, passed by the 2016 Legislature. This legislation amended RCW 28A.210.020.
