OSPI-Developed Performance Assessments for the Arts

2013-14 iGrants Form Package 408
OSPI Bulletin 003-14 details the annual reporting requirements and timelines related to the implementation of assessments and other strategies in Social Studies, The Arts, and Health and Fitness (RCW 28A.230.095) and for Educational Technology (RCW 28A.655.075). Download the Summary of Findings for 2012-13 OSPI-Developed Assessments. The deadline for the form package is June 30, 2014.

The Arts

OSPI has developed Arts assessments that can be used by teachers in the classroom throughout the school year to gauge student understanding of the learning standards for dance, music, theatre, and visual arts.

Dance
Elementary

Poetry in Motion (2008) Students are asked to create a short dance based on the ideas, feelings, and images of a poem.

Dancing Art (2008) Students are asked to choreograph and perform a dance based on one of two works of arts (visual).

Zoo Tunes (2008) Students are asked to notate, and perform, with voice or instrument, an original musical composition portraying a chosen animal.
