2008 Science Assessment
Grade 5

Tutorial

The fifth grade 2008 Science Assessment consisted of 2 inquiry scenarios, 3 system scenarios, and 2 stand alone items. There were 21 multiple choice items (MC), 10 short answer items (SA), and 2 extended response items (ER) for a total of 49 points. The points were equally balanced between physical, Earth/space, and living systems.

The 2009 grade 5 Science Assessment will be shorter. In 2009, the exam will consist of 21 MC items, 8 SA items, and 0 ER items for a total of 37 points. The exam will be taken in 2 sessions instead of 3.
