Proposed Student Discipline Rules

OSPI is proposing substantial changes to Chapter 392-400 of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC).
OSPI will hold public hearings to receive comments about the proposed rules.

OSPI is continuing to develop policies and resources to improve student discipline practices throughout Washington state. In the last few years, the legislature has made significant changes to state laws regarding student discipline. State-level reforms and federal guidance on school discipline are increasingly aligning, in theory and practice, with the ongoing efforts of education practitioners, researchers, and advocates.
