Student Behavior Data

The U.S. Department of Education requires OSPI to annually report the number of students in each school district who were suspended or expelled in the last year for violence or drugs. An OSPI Bulletin provides districts with detailed definitions for the data elements on which they are required to report. (See Bulletin B020-10 for 2009-10 guidance). Please note that the 2009-10 report differs significantly from prior reports and includes data on fighting and injury. Also of note, local school districts have significant control over disciplinary policies and sanctions for misconduct and comparisons between districts are not recommended without further research.

Important note: The U.S. Department of Education has changed the reporting requirements for the Weapons Report and Student Behavior Report. For more information:
