Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)
The PAEMST is the highest recognition that a kindergarten through 12th-grade mathematics or science teacher may receive for outstanding teaching in the United States.
- A citation signed by the President of the United States.
- A paid trip for two to Washington, D.C., to attend a
weeklong series of recognition events and professional
development opportunities.
- Gifts from program sponsors from around the country.
- A $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation.
- An opportunity to build lasting partnerships with colleagues
across the nation.
Nominations are accepted beginning in October. Nominated teachers have until
May of that school year to complete an application. Applications are reviewed by
a statewide committee, and recommendations are submitted to the national program
over the summer. Recipients are typically announced by the President of the
United States in the spring.
Anyone can submit a nomination. Additional information about the program,
