Washington State K-12 Reading Model Implementation Guide

The Washington State K-12 Reading Model Implementation Guide provides a framework from which to embark on systemic reform of reading instruction. The five major components of the K-12 Reading Model are Standards, Assessments, Instruction and Intervention, Leadership and System-wide Commitment (SAILS). The following materials will assist schools in implementing the best practices in reading instruction for ALL students.

Master Price Agreements
Publishers and OSPI have entered into Master Price Agreements on behalf of the school districts in our state for Reading Core/Comprehensive Instructional Materials in grades K-10. This offers districts current catalog prices for a period of six years on materials found to be in strong alignment with state standards.

Professional Development, Intervention, and Supplemental Resources
 

Links Learning The LINKS project has developed a program of 16 lessons for teachers. The focus of the lessons is on teaching K-3, but several lessons demonstrate teaching upper elementary students. An additional two lessons are provided which describe school and district programs.
