Other State's Approved Teacher Preparation Program. Complete a state-approved college/university teacher preparation program. More than one third of Washington teachers use this route.

Other State's Certificate. Hold full state certification/licensure from another state, plus 3 years of teaching experience. A small number of teachers use this route.

National Board Certificate. A certificate issued by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards qualifies a teacher for a Professional Teacher Certificate.
