To Apply for a One-Year Occupational Information Specialist Certificate

Requirements

  • Three years of full-time paid occupational experience (of which two years must have been in the last six years).
    OR
  • Two years of CTE teaching experience in an approved CTE program under the state plan for CTE education.

To Apply for a Three-Year Occupational Information Specialist Certificate

Requirements

  • Must have held a one year OIS certificate within the previous two years.
  • Must have completed nine quarter credits (or equivalent) of approved professional education, earned since the issuance of the first OIS certificate. Of that total, three quarter hours (or equivalent) must have been earned since the issuance of the previous certificate.
  • Must have completed 120 hours of service as an occupational information specialist during the life or the previous certificate.

To Apply for a Five-Year Occupational Information Specialist Certificate

Requirements

Candidate must have held a 3-year CTE certificate within the previous 2 years (to renew, must have held a 5-year CTE certificate)

Candidate must have:

  • Two (2) years of CTE occupational information specialist experience during the life of the previous certificate.
  • Completed a total of 18 quarter credits (or 180 clock hours) of professional education earned since the issuance of the first OIS certificate.
