To Renew a Continuing CTE Teacher Certificate
(valid for five years)

Requirements

If you hold or have held a continuing CTE teaching certificate you have the following option:

Complete, since the issuance of the MOST RECENT continuing CTE teaching certificate, one of the following:

  • Six (6) quarter hours or sixty (60) clock hours of CTE training in the subject matter certified to teach;
    OR
  • Three (3) quarter hours or thirty (30) clock hours of CTE teacher training in the subject matter closest to the specialty area or endorsement area you are certified to teach and three (3) quarter hours or thirty (30) clock hours of technical education/upgrading;
    OR
  • Three (3) quarter hours or thirty (30) clock hours of CTE teacher training in the subject matter certified to teach and three hundred (300) hours of occupational experience; 
    OR
  • A valid CTE or Teacher National Board certificate;
    OR
  • Need to complete two annual PGP's, which equal 60 clock hours.
