Education That’s Up to Date: The Approval Process

Beginning in the 2006-2007 school year and continuing through the 2009-2010 school year all Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses will go through a re-approval process. The purpose of this process is to ensure that all CTE courses set high standards for all students in all aspects of Washington's Education Reform initiative. In addition, the process will clairfy the correct alignment of CTE courses and the corresponding Classification of Instructional Program code (CIP).

Re-approval of specific program areas will be completed based on the re-approval schedule (linked below). Re-approval of courses will only be accepted based on the schedule. The deadline for submitting re-approval information is March 15th for the 2006-2007 and October 15th for the 2007-2008 and subsequent school years. All CTE courses from districts with CTE programs must be re-approved.
