+ 2012–13 Weapons in Schools, Student Behavior Suspensions and Expulsions/HIB Data Collection

Per state and federal law require the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) is required to report information on all known incidents involving the possession of weapons on school premises, transportation systems, or in areas of facilities while being used exclusively by public or private schools for each public school district and each approved private school.

This bulletin provides information to school districts about their obligation to provide interpretation and translation services to parents and guardians with limited English proficiency. It also clarifies guidance about this issue provided in the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction’s (OSPI) Civil Rights Guidelines: Prohibiting Discrimination in Washington Public Schools.
