State Testing Appeals
This applies to students in their 12th grade year who have yet to meet standard on the High School Proficiency Exam (or a state-approved alternative), and experience a “special, unavoidable circumstance” that precludes their ability to access a state-approved assessment as a senior, may appeal to a state review board.
This allows students and parents to challenge the technical aspects of a score on any of the following: High School Proficiency Exam (HSPE) Washington Alternate Assessment System (WAAS) Portfolio; Developmentally Appropriate Proficiency Exam (WAAS-DAPE); Collection of Evidence (COE).
