Title I

LAP Expert Panels & Menus of Best Practices, Strategies for Grades K-12

New LAP requirements direct OSPI to convene three expert panels able to develop menus of best practices and strategies.

English Language Arts
Districts must select best practices and strategies from the ELA menu beginning in 2015-16. The menu will be updated annually.

Mathematics
Districts must select best practices and strategies from the math menu beginning in 2016-17 — available July 1, 2015 — and updated annually.

Reduction of Classroom Disruptive Behaviors
Districts must select best practices and strategies from the disruptive behaviors menu beginning in 2016-17 — available July 1, 2015 — and updated annually.

New Law, WAC & ESSB 5946
Legislative changes to the Learning Assistance Program were developed in — ESSB 5946 Strengthening Student Educational Outcomes — and codified into state law as Chapter 28A.165 RCW and in the Washington Administrative Code as WAC 392-162.
