Resources for Family & Community Involvement

New Program Framework and Two Toolkits

Partners in Education
A new framework from the U.S. Department of Education — Partners in Education — focuses on the ways families, schools, districts, states and communities can build capacity for student achievement and school improvement.

Parent Forums
Learn how to inform, educate and train parents to become partners in learning, advisors, advocates and decision-makers in the Planning Guide to Parent Forums (U.S. Department of Education).

Parent Involvement
Wisconsin’s Resource Kit  — the Title I, Part A team has done an outstanding job of developing and assembling smart programming tools for family/parent involvement. Start with the Road Map Through the School Year — a planning tool that synchs with the school calendar.

A Toolkit for Title I, Part A Parental Involvement — developed by the SEDL National Center for Family and Community Connections with Schools, this rich resource has the potential to guide and structure school and district staff eager to create or modify family involvement programming in ways that serve compliance with federal regulations and the need for positive outcomes.
