Pre-endorsement Waivers and Core Competencies

As of July 30, 2007, a teacher who has completed twenty-four quarter
hours (sixteen semester credit hours) of the required special education
course work will be eligible for a pre-endorsement waiver which will allow
that teacher to be employed as a special education teacher. The remaining
credits and all endorsement requirements must be completed within five
years of service as a special education teacher (WAC 392-172A-02090).
