WEA Special Education Support Center

The WEA Special Education Support Center project is dedicated to enhancing the relationship between school staff and families. Classes are designed to meet the needs of both families and educators. The project provides training on the following topics:

  • Special Education Law & Section 504 Plans
  • Individual Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Behavior Interventions and Discipline
  • Meeting the Needs of All Students: Effective Instruction and Accommodations
  • Autism Awareness for General Educators
  • Brain Research
  • Response to Intervention
  • Transition

Special Education Support Center (Family and Educators)

The Student Centered Education Project is a special education grant funded by the Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Instruction.

  • Provides referral and resource information to families, educators and students
  • Provides training and support for IEP Facilitators to assist districts and families in developing IEPs for special education students
  • Provides training to support partnerships between families and educators which improve student performance
