Under the Individuals
with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004, the OSPI Special
Education Section is required to submit a six-year state performance plan (SPP)
to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) that incorporates twenty
performance indicators (required by OSEP), activities and targets for each
indicator. In addition, OSPI must report annually, Washington State’s
progress and activities for each of those performance indicators and must
report publicly each district's progress for indicators 1-14. The district
level data for those fourteen performance indicators are provided in the
District Profiles link below. The district
profile link provides an overall picture by individual district. The
complete SPP and subsequent APRs are available by scrolling to the bottom of
this page.

performance indicators
cited in the annual performance report by entering the district five digit county-district code.
* Note: Right clicking
a link (instead of the normal left click) will offer
the "Save Target as..." option. Save to your hard
drive, normally Desktop/My Documents. Accessing
content from My Documents will avoid security and
save changes prompts.
Technical Assistance Resources are now available. Districts are
encouraged to access technical assistance resources in order to improve
performance across the 20 indicators of the State Performance Plan. In
addition, districts may be required to access technical assistance as a part
of enforcement actions related to district determination status. Technical
assistance resources are appropriate for teachers, administrators, parents,
students, related services and other staff, and the general community. These
resources may also be used for the development of professional learning
communities, peer review activities, mentoring for new personnel, staff and
parent orientations, and student empowerment.
