Every year the Center for Spanish Studies hosts the Escribo En Español Contest, an international contest open to academic institutions in the state of Washington. The three categories are:
- Drawing contest for Elementary and Middle School students with three prizes for each level. The theme is "Somos más parecidos que diferentes / We are more similar than different".
- Photography contest for High School students, with three prizes being awarded. The topic is "Somos más parecidos que diferentes / We are more similar than different".
- XII Literary Contest, "Escribo en español", for High School students. Four categories -prose and poetry, for native Spanish speakers and native Speakers of other languages- with three prizes in each. The topic will be: "Somos más parecidos que diferentes / We are more similar than different".
Deadline for entries: March 12, 2010
Update: Several participants submitted work. Thank you so much for all your support and enthusiasm. We will be announcing
the winners in early May 2010. Prizes and awards will be given out in a ceremony. Details will be announced here soon.
