OSPI has started to look deeply at how to help high schools become more effective in raising student achievement and lowering the dropout rates among students. Commonalities in research point to the three “R’s” as a remedy to help high schools change a culture that supports every student graduating with the necessary requisite knowledge and skills. Rigor, relevance, and relationships have now become a mantra of the high school reform movement and embedded in Washington’s initiative called Project Graduation. This section of the website is organized to help school communities become more knowledgeable of the three “R”s and to supply resources to schools trekking down this path.
