School Construction Assistance Program

The School Construction Assistance Program (SCAP) assists school districts with funding for new construction and modernization of existing buildings. Governing authority is in both the Revised Code of Washington and the Washington Administrative Code.

The School Facilities Manual outlines the process of planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of school facilities and detailed information about the state School Construction Assistance Program.

The School Construction Assistance Summary Handbook provides as overview of the school construction process and references specific manual chapters.

Technical assistance in facilities planning and obtaining state assistance for construction is available from the Regional Coordinators, who are the primary point of contact for school districts in the process of developing capital programs and gaining financial assistance from the state to expand or modernize school facilities.
