2012 Jobs Now Act Energy Efficiency Grants
The Legislature has appropriated $40 million dollars in the 2012 Jobs Now Act provided solely for energy operational cost savings improvements to K-12 school facilities; $5.9 million has been granted to the 14 most competitive projects remaining on the March 2012 applications list; $34 million will be awarded in two rounds: round one will award $14 million in late November 2012 and round two will award the final $20 million in late February 2013.

2011-2013 Energy Operational Cost Savings Grants
The Legislature appropriated $20 million of the Capital Budget to OSPI to administer a new cycle of energy operational savings project grants for K–12 facilities.

Energy Operational Improvement Grants

Next, click on the school district boundaries (in blue) to obtain more information about each grant recipient.

2010 Energy Operational Cost Savings Grants
The Legislature appropriated $50 million to OSPI to implement energy efficiency projects in K–12 public schools through performance-based contracting. OSPI conducted three rounds, funding more than $139.6 million in improvement projects statewide.

2009 Energy Operational Cost Savings Grants
The Legislature appropriated $16.9 million to implement energy efficiency projects in K-12 public schools through performance-based contracting. The energy efficiency improvement grants are for energy cost savings projects using the energy savings performance contracting method, which provides a guaranteed construction cost and guaranteed cost savings. Grant funds are to be used to supplement district resources which may come from local funds, utility provider incentives and rebates, and/or low interest loans. Grants totaling $16.5 million were awarded to 59 school districts in 24 counties.
