  Response to Intervention (RTI)

Scientifically Research-Based Instruction

What is it?
Curriculum and educational interventions that have been proven to be effective for most students based on scientific study. All students should receive high-quality, research-based instruction in the general education classroom.

Why is it important?
By using research-based practices, schools efficiently use time and resources and reduce or eliminate ineffective instructional and evaluative practices. If instruction is not research-based, one cannot be confident that students’ progress (or lack thereof) is independent of the classroom experiences.
