Training description
This full-day training is divided into two sections:

  • English Language Development Standards (ELDS)
Provides an overview of the stages of language acquisition and a hands-on tour of Washington’s English Language Development (ELD) Standards for ELL instruction in the four language domains: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Includes practical application to participants’ classroom settings
  • Content and Language Objectives that Work
ELLs need to be supported in with specific targets for the language required to comprehend content. The module will give teachers practice in identifying the academic language required for a lesson, and in writing clear, measurable objectives that include content and language targets.
