Tribal History in Social Studies Curriculum - New Requirements in Washington's Basic Education Act
As districts review and revise social studies and history curricula, there are
two new requirements passed by the 2015 Washington State Legislature.
- Integrate Since Time Immemorial: Tribal Sovereignty in Washington State into current and newly-adopted social studies or history curricula.
- Collaborate with federally recognized Indian tribes within or neighboring district boundaries.
