Washington Improvement and Implementation Network (WIIN)
The Washington Improvement and Implementation Network (WIIN) offers professional development emphasizing evidence-based practices and other innovations to teams from schools and districts identified for services under the Washington Performance Management Framework.
The WIIN specializes in technical assistance which builds on research around implementation science, OSPI's Characteristics of Improved Districts: Themes from Research, and research-supported leadership and instructional practices. Professional development is designed to support educators to:
- Accelerate and substantially improve the academic achievement of ALL students
- Close opportunity and achievement gaps
- Use Needs Assessments and Improvement Processes to prioritize needs and invest limited resources in several targeted goals
- Build effective systems to serve ALL students and sustain changes over time
- Satisfy requirements for districts and schools in the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001 and federal School Improvement Grant (SIG) guidelines
- Create conditions to scale-up innovations and sustain improvements over time.
Districts may also partner with Educational Service Districts (ESDs) to implement and scale-up evidence-based improvement tools, processes, and strategies presented through the WIIN.
Participants
Districts and schools identified for services through the WPMF may apply to participate at the WIIN Center. Participants include teams from:
