K-20 Video Conferences

To provide statewide delivery of information and training relating to the Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and Highly Capable (HC) programs, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) will hold a series of four K-20 video conferences beginning April of 2008. District level coordinators/directors for each of the programs are invited to participate.

In previous years, this type of information was delivered through the August Gifted Leadership Symposium. In order to reach more program directors throughout the state and, at the same time, cut back on travel costs, it was decided to deliver this information through the K-20 video conference system.

  • Leslie Pyper, Special Education, presented on Response to Intervention (RTI) and the Gifted Child (PDF, 27 pages)
    Leslie also shared the Progress Monitoring Tools Chart: Reading and Math. This chart is available from the National Center on Response to Intervention which provides Evidence-Based Tools and Interventions. Additionally, Leslie spoke about Using Student Achievement Data to Support Instructional Decision Making, one of the Practical Guides available on the What Works Clearinghouse Web site. The National Implementation Research Network’s Stages of Implementation chart was discussed and will be available on OSPI’s Response to Intervention Web page.
