Leadership
Principal Anne Gayman looks for leadership qualities among all her staff. And she finds it. She respects the professionalism and judgment, the creativity and resourcefulness of the people who work hour-by-hour, day-by-day with the children whose educational outcomes are entrusted to the staff at Evergreen Heights.
In her own words…
Leadership arises from all corners of the building. Trust and relationships are key to the success of our students. Opinions are valued. I look for the strengths in each staff member and try to promote that strength to enhance achievement. I believe that staff has professional judgment and can make decisions to meet the need of their students. I feel that there should be a balance between achieving high standards and promoting a love for school and learning. So not only do we work hard to help our students achieve, we have fun doing it.
We Can Make the Connection
Among the Nine Characteristics of High-Performing Schools, the leadership factor is at the core of academic success and the motivation of every staff member. At Evergreen Heights, Anne Gayman embraces this notion wholeheartedly, and understands the relationship between professional growth and a team of top-notch instructional leaders able to reach and teach every child in their care.
