Moving forward to close the achievement gap requires teamwork, collaboration and dedication to individual student success. This is social justice and anything less is not acceptable...Principal Beverly Lund

Achieve!

Assessment

At the core of Whitman Elementary’s assessment framework is a standards-based grading and reporting system (Word). End-of-unit assessments are standardized, and re-teaching and re-testing are a regular component of instruction. Current data is vital. The latest evaluation data on student performance guides student placement within the workshop model, so that children can optimize differentiated content and instruction at the small-group level.

In addition to regular assessments and standardized reporting, teachers use a customized Progress Monitoring System (PPT) to measure growth for students with Individualized Education Plans.
