Funding
Tapteal funds its rich reading (and math) programs from the basic educational allocation, the Title I Learning Assistance Program and state money for English Language Learners. Because Tapteal blends its programming dollars, students get the cross-disciplinary team support they need to succeed.
Says principal, Rhonda Pratt, “One funding program cannot serve the whole child. So, we create a multi-faceted set of interventions that integrate money and resources from a variety of sources.” She is eager to point out that Tapteal is a no-label zone where a complex suite of student-centered approaches and interventions open access to all who need help meeting grade-level learning goals or meeting expectations for positive behavior.
