Education Technology

Standards, Assessments & Tech Literacy

Standards & Assessments
The standards for educational technology work compatibly, and practically, within Washington’s teaching and learning environment. The assessments for educational technology integrate within core content areas — science, math, health, English language arts, social studies and the arts.

Assess Tech Proficiency, Integration & Literacy
Administrators looking to add or deepen the level of tech integration in the classroom, need to know how well their staff and students function with technology. We recommend that administrators begin here with standardized frameworks that benchmark tech proficiencies among teachers and students.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Teachers use UDL principles to create instructional goals, strategies, materials, and assessments that customize to meet individual learning needs.

Accessible Educational Materials
Accessible educational materials (AEM) are designed or converted in a way that makes them usable across the widest range of student variability regardless of media type (e.g., print, digital, graphic, audio, or video).
