Take advantage of free educational lab licenses for SketchUp Pro, the popular 3D modeling software.
Teachers use this versatile tool to visualize ideas and data, places and objects — anything that can use the power of a 3D graphic to strengthen core curricula with realistic visualizations. We also recommend another free download — Google Earth — which makes it possible to model real-world buildings and sites and locate them geographically.
Free to K-12 Public & Private Schools
Networked lab seats and single-user educator licenses for K-12 schools and teachers are available at no cost. The offer is open to all Washington state schools and districts that make use of the licensing program administered through OSPI. SketchUp Pro licenses are good for three years, at which point you can reapply.
Two Types of SketchUp Pro Licenses
- Networked lab license for Mac or Windows platform — up to 300 (simultaneous) users.
- Set of single-user licenses for up to 50 educators in the same building.
This is a floating lab license that you can use on a computer in a school lab. SketchUp Pro license codes accommodate up to 300 networked PCs using the software simultaneously. However, you can install the software on as many PC’s as you need.
- Windows-based network — one of your computers must act as a license server. Networked machines in the lab must be able see the license-holding PC.
- Mac network — no server is necessary.
No. We recommend that students download SketchUp, which is designed for home use. It’s free, too.
