Educational Technology Assessments
Teachers will use these assessments to determine student progress toward Washington’s standards for educational technology. Designed for the elementary, middle and high school grades, they integrate science, math, health, English language arts, social studies and the arts. K-2 teachers can take advantage of a simplified checklist. Classroom activities are well guided, easy to use and come equipped with a comprehensive inventory of free and low-cost digital resources.
New Reporting Requirement
Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, districts that use the state's
assessments for educational technology must report these data to OSPI through
iGrants. Look for Form Package 408.
Field Testing & Feedback
We’ve posted a mix of draft and final versions on the assessment page to encourage feedback from teachers, and to identify formal field testers who will document their classroom experience and provide student work samples. During the 2011-2012 review cycle, we’ll focus on
secondary grade-level assessments. We envision Washington's
assessments for educational technology as a dynamic resource for educators, and
one that we’ll continue to build out with instructional and assessment support
materials.
PD on the Moodle
Visit the OSPI Moodle site for
professional development resources customized for the EdTech assessments. Teachers will be able to connect with a high-quality, step-by-step tutorial, instructional support materials for the new assessments and an online forum to share ideas and experience with colleagues across Washington.
