Early Learning in Washington Public Schools

Schools have been extensively involved in early learning for many years. More than 322,000 children birth to age eight currently attend early care and education programs in Washington public schools in programs including:

  • Head Start in Schools
  • ECEAP in Schools
  • School-based Special Education Preschool
  • Pre-K Non-Head Start Preschool
  • School-based Child Care

Preschool programs located in public schools afford rich opportunities for schools to build and strengthen relationships with their early learning providers and parents.
