Currently, data is collected for two main reasons: to comply with state and
federal laws, and to determine how much money schools and districts receive.
The K–12 Data and Reports Web site is intended to provide this data in a user-friendly way, and to help inform education decisions from the school level to the state level.
At this time the site contains:
- Teacher and staff demographics (gender, race, etc.)
- Educator data (certification, salary, years of experience, type of teaching endorsement, etc.)
- Finance data
The site will include student data, such as demographics and test scores, in Spring 2013.
The site is powered by the Statewide Longitudinal Data System and maintained by OSPI. See
RCW 28A.300.500 for more information.
