School Year 2012-13 Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program
For school year 2012-13, the FFVP application process has now begun. The requirements in the law for school selection are very prescriptive and require that schools with the highest level of free and reduced-price enrollment receive priority in selection. Elementary schools with 50 percent or more free and reduced-price (FRP) enrollment, based on the October 2011 building data, are eligible to apply for participation. This information can be found in OSPI Bulletin B002-12, located at http://www.k12.wa.us/BulletinsMemos/bulletins2012.aspx.
Schools that apply with at least 82 percent or more free and reduced-price eligible students will receive FFVP funding (at least $50 per student per year). Schools with at least 75 percent but less than 82 percent free and reduced-price enrollment are strongly encouraged to apply. Many schools would have received funding in the past had they applied. Please note that past participation does not guarantee future participation as OSPI is required to use FRP percentages as the primary criteria for participation selection.
