In-State Program Completer Applicants
Review the application types below to find the application that's right for you based on your current status.
Certificates you may apply for if you are completing or have completed a state of Washington approved teacher preparation program.
Before applying for any of the following certificates, please check with the Certification Officer at your institution to make certain the appropriate steps have been completed.
Pre-Residency Clearance - Select this if you are currently completing your teacher preparation program and are starting student teaching.
Teacher College Recommendation - Select this if you have completed all your Washington program requirements AND have been recommended for certification by your institution.
Career and Technical Education - Select this if you are interested in becoming certified in Career and Technical Education.
Substitute Teaching Certificate - Select this if you have completed all your state of Washington program requirements and have been recommended for certification by your institution.
Conditional Teacher - Select this if you are working with an employer that wants to employ you based upon experience and expertise, but you do not qualify for a full teaching certificate.
Intern Substitute Teacher - Select this if you are student teaching and your employer needs you to substitute for your mentor teacher in their absence.
Emergency Substitute Teacher - Select this if you are working with an employer that wants you to be available for substitute teaching on an emergency basis.
First Peoples' Language, Culture and Oral Traditions Certification - Select this if you have completed a sovereign tribal government’s language/culture teacher certification program.
Limited certificate. If an educator is eligible to hold a full teaching certificate, then they would not qualify for any of the Limited certificates.
