Microsoft IT Academy (ITA)
OSPI and Microsoft have partnered to provide Microsoft IT Academy (ITA) to all Washington high schools. Microsoft ITA will bridge the gap between the world of education and the world of work. It will boost Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education statewide and the employability and global competitiveness of our students and future workforce.
What is it?
Microsoft ITA provides training and certification in a number of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, Access, Project, as well as advanced topics, including programming, Web development, and database development. OSPI has also partnered with CCI Learning Solutions to provide free certification testing for students, teachers and staff at each high school.
When is it available?
Microsoft ITA includes unique education benefits that Microsoft Learning is making available to Washington high schools. These benefits will be rolled out over a period of six months, beginning later this summer (2011) with a pilot group of 50-60 schools, along with training delivered through live meetings, support materials, and dedicated deployment resources for the teachers and staff of Washington.
How does my district get Microsoft ITA?
Districts may register now by completing the ITA registration form, and e-mailing it to Venetia Willis-Holbrook, program supervisor, business and marketing, at v.willis-holbrook@k12.wa.us.
