, which is federally funded and state-administered, is designed to recognize exceptionally able high school seniors who show promise of continued excellence in postsecondary education.
In order to be eligible for the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship, a student must be in the top three percent of the
Washington State Honors Award. OSPI formally invites those students to apply for the
Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship. Eligible students will receive an invitation and scholarship application. Top graduates from each of the state’s nine congressional districts will receive a $1,500 scholarship that is renewable for four years to help pay for higher education.
If you are a GED student, a student who is homeschooled, or a Washington state resident student who attends an out-of-state school, please carefully review the Eligibility Requirements.
Please note: Funding for the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship is received from federal resources; therefore, OSPI does not know from year-to-year whether new scholarships will be available.
