Alternative Learning Experience Programs Study
Published November 2005
This is a mandated study on Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) programs within the K-12 school system. It provides background information, and presents the results of a survey of school districts on the programs they operate. The major focus of this interim report, however, is on one particular type of ALE program – those that rely on online or digital curriculum. The report contains six recommendations.
This report is a joint effort of the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee (JLARC) and the State Auditor's Office (SAO), with JLARC serving as the lead agency.
